After A levels, what next?

With university top up fees, it has never been more important to make the right choice.  Nearly 1 in 4 students now drops out of university before completing a degree.  Changing courses isn't always easy and mistakes are invariably costly - emotionally as well as financially.  Of course, university isn't the only option and many students are now looking to find out about alternatives which allow them to learn while they train.

A gap year is still a popular option - a chance to have a break from studying and time to think about the next stage.  Used well, it can be fun as well as an opportunity to gain experience or new skills for your CV.  When you come to apply for jobs, remember that employers will expect to see that you have put your year out to good use.

Gabbitas has helped thousands of sixth formers to plan the next stage.  If you are looking to a wider perspective on your choice of career, university or degree course, if you feel that perhaps university isn't for you, or if you want to know how to get the best from your year out, Gabbitas can help you make the right decisions and plan your future with confidence.
