Kate Wood
Director of Recruitment and School Management Services
Kate is a New Zealand trained teacher who has taught in both New Zealand and the UK. After teaching for six and a half years, Kate wanted to broaden her experience, so took a position as a Marketing Project Manager with Wellington City Council in New Zealand. In this role she worked closely with schools, Governors, Headteachers, staff and parents to encourage, promote and implement road safety based projects.
Kate came to the UK in 2006 and worked for a teacher recruitment company, supplying teachers to schools for both day-to-day, long-term and permanent assignments. Kate joined Gabbitas in 2009 as a Senior Recruitment Consultant. She was named Director of Recruitment and School Management Services in 2011.

Maureen Lacey
Senior Recruitment Consultant
Maureen has extensive experience of the education sector. Initially, she spent some years as a teacher, both for adults, teaching cookery, and for children, assisting in a London prep school. In 2001 Maureen joined the Independent Schools Council International as a consultant to advise UK and overseas parents on the placement of their children in affiliated schools in the UK.
Following four successful years with the ISCI, she moved to Brighton College to assist in the admissions department. Maureen joined Gabbitas in 2006, organising the administration for the Recruitment Department and assisting clients with their recruitment needs.

Katie Robinson
Recruitment Consultant
Katie joined the Guardianship department at Gabbitas in 2010 after spending six years in Madrid. During her time in the Spanish capital, she joined a leading English Academy where she taught general and business English, before moving into the administrative side of the business. As client coordinator, Katie was in charge of classes, seminars and conferences as well as managing the recruitment of teaching staff.
As originally part of the Guardianship team, Katie dealt with clients from all over the world, including Korea, China, Iran, Mexico and Malaysia. The Guardianship department gave Katie a great opportunity to get to know the UK Independent school sector and she built a successful working relationship with clients, which she brings to her current role in the recruitment team. Katie assists clients from the UK and joined the team in 2011.

Bethan Buchanan
Summer School & Recruitment Services Administrator
Bethan has been with Gabbitas since August 2009. She began as the Gabbitas front of house Receptionist. Early in 2011, Bethan took on the exciting role of co-ordinating the first Gabbitas Language and Business Summer School. As well as this, she began supporting the Recruitment team by managing teacher applications and updating the candidate database. Her design skills and creative flair have been utilised through the design and placement of adverts for the recruitment team. Beth moved to the UK from South Africa in 2009. Her work in South Africa included managing a creative studio in a marketing and communications company. She was also an office assistant for two architectural firms. Beth is a qualified Hatha Yoga instructor and headed a yoga studio for two years in South Africa.
