As specialists in the placement of private tutors with families worldwide, we recruit for full-time roles, either for permanent positions, or for fixed-term contracts such as for a holiday period. Why employ a private tutor?
We know that families employ private tutors for many different reasons, among which are for a son or daughter who:

  • has been educated outside of the British system and is now being re-introduced to it for a return to a British school either within the UK or internationally.
  • is preparing for examinations such as GCSE or IGCSE, A Levels in particular subjects or the demands of the International Baccalaureate
  • would benefit from extra preparation during the holidays for the Common Entrance examination or has special educational needs and requires additional assistance and support beyond their regular schooling
  • is gifted or talented and needs to be stretched through extended learning opportunities
  • is home-schooled and who would benefit from working with a tutor or tutors
You may be relocating to the UK and want to help prepare your child for the move to an English curriculum, or to improve their spoken and written English before joining their new school.
You may want after-school help for your children with homework and assignments, extra-curricular activities or to build up their self-confidence and their ability to adapt to a new school.
Finding the right tutor
We always aim to act in your interests to secure the best available candidates. Our service is very flexible and, as a guide, can include:
  • Gathering information about your child/ren and discussing your requirements for a tutor
  • Preparing the job description and specification, candidate profile and proposed salary package, to be presented to potential candidates
  • Conducting an initial search from our database and from local advertising to generate as many candidates as possible
  • Screening CVs and preparation of a long-list of candidates, interviewing candidates (in person or via Skype, depending on the location) and preparing a profile of the candidate
Following these interviews we can:
  • short-list candidates for you to interview and provide you with the CVs for the short-list
  • carry out reference checks on short-listed candidates
  • organise suitable dates, times and a venue for you to conduct final interviews
  • advise you in the selection process, if you feel this could be helpful
  • inform candidates as to whether or not they have been successful in their application
  • if required, we can assist in the preparation and signing of the Contract by the successful candidate
  • we can also provide a visa application and qualification verification service (where required)
