We would recommend a “hybrid” approach which combines a number of different methodologies from Advertised Selection, Database/Networking, Search and Online - Gabbitas owns a number of independent education related websites, including www.prepschools.co.uk, www.privateschools.co.uk, www.publicschools.co.uk, www.boardingschools.co.uk and www.universities.co.uk.
An example of a possible timescale:
- A meeting with the school/Board of Governors to discuss the job description, person specification and package details and advertising. Copy approved advertising and agreed timings for publication.
- Advertisement in TES both in the newspaper and online.
- Draw up a long list to be interviewed by us at our offices in London
- A shortlisted is presented to you and your Board of Governors. In any recruitment exercise it is important to maintain momentum, so we would suggest that interviews take place for the shortlisted candidates as soon as possible.
We would work on a retained basis for an assignment of this nature. The introduction fee (i.e. 25% of first year remuneration) is exactly the same but the payments are staged (as opposed to one single fee at the end) to reflect the work which is undertaken during the process. This fee would be payable in three stages:
- One third of projected total fee upon commencement of the assignment.
- One third of the projected total fee upon presentation of shortlist (which is acceptable to you).
- The final third upon written acceptance by the successful candidate. This final figure maybe more or less depending on the final salary offered to the successful candidate.
Advertising costs would be in addition to the above.
