We hope this information gives you a flavour of how our tutoring service can help you and your family and enhance your child’s education.

Why employ a private tutor?

We know that families employ private tutors for many different reasons, among which are for a son or daughter who:

  • has been educated outside of the British system and is now being re-introduced to it for a return to a British school either within the UK or internationally.
  • is preparing for examinations such as GCSE or IGCSE, A Levels in particular subjects or the demands of the International Baccalaureate
  • would benefit from extra preparation during the holidays for the Common Entrance examination
  • has special educational needs and requires additional assistance and support beyond their regular schooling
  • is gifted or talented and needs to be stretched through extended learning opportunities
  • is home-schooled and who would benefit from working with a tutor or tutors

You may be relocating to the UK and want to help prepare your child for the move to an English curriculum, or to improve their spoken and written English before joining their new school.

You may want after-school help for your children with homework and assignments, extra-curricular activities or to build up their self-confidence and their ability to adapt to a new school.

"Through Gabbitas we invited Mr Browne to tutor our oldest children for the past 6 weeks in Italy. He has particularly helped our twin boys prepare for the Common Entrance exams to English boarding schools as their experience to date has been in the American education system. We are sorry the agreed period of tutoring has passed. We would be delighted to invite him again to tutor our younger children." Mr S, Italy
