All headmasters are asked at some stage what makes their school special. At Blundell’s, friendships and relationships formed in our community are at the heart of what is undoubtedly a special school. Strong and supportive relationships, often unheard and unsung, make community life very rewarding here; as W B Yeats reminds us, friendship is extremely important. We work very hard together to ensure strong academic success and good qualifications, but we also believe in a sense of wholeness. Kindness and excellence are not mutually incompatible qualities. Courtesy, humility and good manners are very important values which have proved to be deeply rooted in Blundellians, enriching daily life here whilst also ensuring that visitors and new members of the community feel welcome and at ease. For young people in the 21st century, Blundell's is also a gateway to a broader national and international perspective. We are continually engaging our pupils with the many exciting initiatives in the dynamic wider educational environment and in so doing, enabling their successful transition into an increasingly complex world.
