Gabbitas Consultant Review
Blundell’s is an all-through co-educational school from 3-18 years. The grounds extend over 90 acres just outside Tiverton. A main road runs through the middle of the senior school, which is not a bad thing in that the older students can see the ‘real world’. The immediate impression of Blundell’s is a neat, well-organised and attractive school – many of the buildings are built of the local Exmoor Sandstone. Full boarding, weekly boarding, flexi boarding and day options are offered. There is no teaching on a Saturday – just a massive sports match day or outward bounding. Sport is strong, especially Girls hockey. Day students join the regular boarding houses for full integration. Many societies go abroad, for instance the annual Art trip to the USA The Director of Art prefers New York with its museums and skyscrapers.
All in all, a splendid school, that is somewhat peripheral geographically.
