Gabbitas Consultant Review
It is difficult to improve on the ‘outstanding’ Ofsted report received by Lansdowne College. I believe that these quotes from the inspection report carried out in December 2008 paint an accurate picture. Students can choose from a huge range of 49 subjects. Their progress is guided and monitored at every step, through one-to-one sessions with their Personal Tutor, weekly examination practice and a monthly reporting system.
“The quality of teaching and assessment is outstanding. Teachers have an excellent knowledge of their subjects and plan interesting and challenging lessons which, together with very effective guidance, enables students to make outstanding progress”
“Relationships between students and teachers are very positive and students say how valued and comfortable they feel in lessons and in the culture of achievement within the college.”
“The quality of the students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding”
“Students say there is a great community feel about College, which welcomes students of all cultural backgrounds”
“Students develop into confident and articulate young people who enjoy college and who are well prepared for their next stages in their life”.
