Sporting

All pupils take some form of sport or exercise. Rugby, Football, Hockey, Netball, Swimming and Athletics are compulsory. Other major sports include Cricket, Tennis and Rounders. Other sports and co-curricular sporting activities include Girls’ Football, Sailing, Squash, Shooting, Aerobics, Aikido, Basketball, Climbing, Running, Trampolining, Volleyball, Golf, Winter cricket nets, Table Tennis, Judo, Taekwondo, Yoga and Fencing.

Notable extra curricular activities

A variety of clubs and societies, including: art, chess, Christian Union, computing, creative writing, cultural awareness, debating, French/German/Spanish cinema, fencing, medical discussion group, Model United Nations, photography, school magazine, theatre technicians, virtual flying and a charitable group. The school has a CCF and strong record in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. There are also many sporting activities, musical and theatrical groups, a scholars’ lecture programme and academic subject societies (eg Politics, Philosophy and Economics Group).
