St John’s Senior School is based on sound traditional values of discipline, commitment and involvement. Set in a 35-acre site, St John's has extensive games and recreational fields as well as an area of grassland and woodland for environmental study. Swimming lessons are taken at the Merchant Taylors School. The excellent facilities for academic, sporting and cultural activities provide a great benefit to the school in aiming to provide a stimulating environment for its students.

Pupils are taught clear guidelines and are expected to maintain these and a result they are confident and articulate and display naturally good manners. Their behaviour, both in class and around the school, is excellent. For the last few years the school has maintained an enviable pass rate of 100% in its GCSE results, undoubtedly a part consequence of small classes. The school actively promotes trips to and links with Europe for every year group.

There is a good and positive feel about this school.
