Academic Information
Academic Studies
The curriculum offered at Windermere School reflects the belief that students should be exposed to as many opportunities as possible and leave the school as well-rounded individuals. Recognition that learning and communication skills are as important as subject content underpins the way the curriculum is delivered. The National Curriculum is followed at all levels although at Years 7 to 9 we introduce more breadth and tailor its delivery to the needs of our students. At Sixth Form, we offer two very exciting programmes, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - a worldwide qualification increasingly recognised as the gold standard by universities and employers, and the International Baccalaureate Career Certificate Programme – specifically designed with the outdoors in mind. The IBCC offers a practical qualification that is endorsed by the IB Organisation and offers students both academic and practical studies.
